Home / Showcase
As with the photo of the Rocky Butte Monument above, this page is a place for photos and links associated directly or indirectly with the company products and customers, and slide-related performances/events of interest. Send us a photo you’d like us to consider posting, or a link you might like to share. We’ll notify you if we put it on the site. We plan to sponsor slide-related events as we grow, eventually adding an ‘Event’ page. For now, we’ll just call this page the ‘Showcase’ page and watch it grow.
If you (or someone you know) is publishing their slide music, send us an email address or a link. We’d like to help promote your/their work.

Here's a link from a gentleman in Tennessee, stylin' with his new green Rocky Butte Slide, and singin' about this "Mean ol' World"!
A nice bit of feedback from a new customer, posted on http://slideguitar.proboards.com/thread/17/super-rad-guitar-slides.
A well-written article about the need for a custom fitted slide:

Eric is a great guy with a recent CD, playing great slide on great guitars! He’s all about mountains and slide music. Here’s Eric’s performance schedule: www.erickallio.com/live, and a link to his CD: erickallio.bandcamp.com/. We understand there's a new CD in the works too, and we're looking forward to some great new music from Eric!
A testimonial and a video from a long-time slide player, Augie Taylor posted a short video on Youtube: https://youtu.be/ys8SYdrN8QQ using a thin-wall Black Ninja made to his ring size..
- Augie said, "I'd played glass, chrome, and some kind of carbonite that a friend dreamed up in the 1980s, so I knew a few things about our beloved slide. Bill (at RBGS) fashioned for me a custom-fit pair of slides that I use all the time. I use a 3/4 length and a stubby. Very dependable, He understands what I prefer and what gives me what I want sound and feel-wise. These slides are the best I've ever played, and I recommend them to anyone who loves playing slide guitar. They're the best I've owned."
A Facebook video post about a guy who made the slide scene early, changed the blues world forever, and left the planet altogether too soon. He played with a short bottleneck on the end of his little finger; ladies and gentlemen, please enjoy,

Sustainable, Recyclable, Value-added Packing Protection for Your Slides
When we first started thinking about how to protect our slides in shipping, we considered bubble wrap, bio-degradable peanuts, crumpled newspaper, even baby booties… but these things were either messy, unhealthy or expensive. That's when we hit on the idea of shipping in a draw-string bag. And surprise! We found these in bio-degradable burlap tote-bags, perfectly sized and complete with draw strings!
|
How do we ship them? Let me count the ways… |
THEREFORE, all of our slides will ship inside a box, in the protective comfort of their own little bags. We like that, feeling the bags add value, protect the slides from the environment and the environment from the slides. And, instead of creating waste, they are an accessory, included at very little cost, and we can print our logo on them nicely (the printed version is coming soon).
We really hope you like these little security bags, we were thinking about a greener world when we found them. There may be some alternative styles coming for the tote-bags too. Check back here periodically or drop us a line saying you would like us to notify you as new or changing products are offered. |
