- The slides shown in photos here are representative examples of some of our glass slide's colors, length, wall thickness and ring sizes. Glass availability changes by size and color from time to time. Be sure look to the description of each slide for clarification.
- If we don’t have the glass for it, we won't try to sell it as a back-order. However, if a size or color or style you want is not available at the moment- and you’d like to be notified when it is- please, contact us to be notified when the slide size and color you want becomes available. As a rule, if a slide is offered for sale it is in stock.
Weight
- Most of the color slide products offered today have 4mm walls because that glass is predominantly available (Summer 2016).
- 4mm (thick-wall) slides are considered ‘heavy’ weight and they can be found in every product category (small, medium and large ring sizes.)
- Walls greater than 2mm and less than 4mm thick are considered ‘medium’ weight, while walls of 2mm or less are considered ‘light’ weight.
- As new wall thicknesses become available we will expand the product lineup. Check the product lists to see new offerings or send us a note to be notified of new product and event announcements.
Ring Size
- All ring sizes listed on this site are USA ring sizes.
- Ring size should be determined by where on your finger you want the slide. Measure the largest ring size NOT able to fit over the knuckle where you want the slide to rest.
- Calculate your ring size; There are a number of ways to determine what the optimum ring size of your slide should be. One is by using the classic “Roll a piece of paper into a tube and slip it around your finger where you want to wear your slide, then mark it on the inside where the roll begins", technique. After marking, unroll it and measure the distance from the end of the roll to the mark- that is the inside circumference of a 'ring size'. There are a number of websites offering tables to make the conversion from circumference to ring size and they're easily found using Google. Of course you can always take your rolled up paper slide to a jewelry store and ask them how big it is. Knowing the ring size of your slide is important if it ever needs replacement too, just like all the other wearable 'sized' things people have.
- Once you know the ring size of the slide you want, you're ready to go shopping. All you need now is how long you want your slide to be- and what color? If you can't find a slide in the size you need, please Contact us with your request.
Lengths
- Order your standard slide length in 1/8" increments; order your short slide in 1/16" increments
- Remember, the rule of thumb for playing slide (in key) is to keep your slide square across your strings. If the slide is on the strings at an angle, the lowest and highest strings will be out of harmony--and so will all the others in between.
- If you need further clarification, let us know before you order. We really want you to have a perfect fit, and don't want to make what you can’t use. Plenty of slides on the market do that already.

We Love New Products!
We found a website in England specializing in brass inner-spline shafts, which they sell as guitar slides. others offer steel wrenches as slides. We’d like to offer something along that line too, it looks really clever and should help players with sweaty fingers. The ‘glass advantage’ is that we can cut them to a requested length, and we can accommodate a range of ring sizes—just as we do in clear and colored glass.
